ALL: My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord. Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever. |

| Prayer of Confession (Unison) | ||
We come before you always, our God, with humble hearts. Who are we to deserve such love and grace? Grace that delivers us every day of the week and opens paths of hope. Your love we see in the brightness of day, with the stark beauty of the desert and bird song; in the night skies overflowing with stars. In you is a joy that cannot be denied, only received and felt deep within. Forgive us when we fail to see you, trust you, be healed by you. Forgive us when we abuse the beauty of the stranger, and mistrust our neighbor. Forgive our selfish judgment of others and of ourselves. Remind us we are of your image and fully loved. We pray for your grace and mercy in Jesus' name. Amen |
||
| (A moment for silent reflection) | ||
| Assurance of Forgiveness (Unison) | ||
We trust in God the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and renewer of life. The Spirit justifies us by grace through faith, sets us free to accept ourselves and to love God and neighbor, and binds us together with all believers in the one body of Christ, the Church. In a broken and fearful world the Spirit gives us courage to pray without ceasing, to witness among all peoples to Christ as Lord and Savior, and to work with others for justice, freedom and peace. |

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
